First Impressions of the Cell C Bundle

Yesterday I received a delivery from Cell C and my first impression

of the CellC 5GB pm bundle is that it’s super easy to set up.

As we put Cell C tothe test with the 4Gs debate with 60GB of data we will prove to the rest of South Africa if what they have said below is really what they mean.

FACT 1: 4 GREAT SPEED

Cell C is the fastest broadband service provider in South Africa according to the results of the 2010 Broadband Survey, with average download speeds of 7.21 Mbps, which is 3 to 4 times faster than the competition.1 Cell C is already the leading internet provider in PE, DBN, CT and JHB according to the latest statistics from speedtest.net

FACT 2: 4 GREAT SERVICE
According to the 2010 Broadband Survey “…in the mobile broadband space, the true mavericks were Cell C.” With 48% of all votes, Cell C was the company “which did the most in 2010 to improve the state of broadband in South Africa… Cell C ruled supreme among other broadband providers.”2

FACT 3: 4 GREAT SERVICE
Cell C has started to communicate and interact with customers on an unprecedented level – with over 50 000 postings to our telltrevor.co.za website. Over 91% of complaints have been attended to and the average response time was less than 3 hours.

FACT 4: 4 GREAT SAVINGS
Cell C offers “the best ever broadband pricing in South Africa.” According to MyBroadband.co.za, “Cell C slashed the broadband from the usual R200 per GB to as low as R33 per GB (per month) – a move which is likely to change the local broadband environment for good…”3

We have clearly stated that we want to bring competition to the market. We are doing just that. We have stated that we want to make internet access affordable and reliable for a much larger number of people. We are doing just that.

  1. Wow, won’t it be cool if the product actually lives up to the promises? It might be a first in South African advertising! (laugh)

Till now, South Africans have largely been kept from the online arena because of cost and lack of infrastructure. It’s time it was made affordable to the majority, so we can explore and take advantage of this amazing environment, just like the rest of the world.

I must say, I was quite impressed when I sat in our offices in Randpark Ridge in Joburg, and seeing that my Cell C HTC Touch Diamond 2 phone now has a 3G signal. Started browsing and it quickly switched over to 3.5G(H) and what a dream!

Quite impressed so far, although I think I’m gonna have issues when my bill comes with me loving it too much.

Helga so true. There is such a massive need for the most part of the South African population to access the web and this is a wonderful opportunity to make inroads into the “Digital Divide”. Thanks for the contributing.

Well the great the browsing experience the more data we use and I guess it is a sacrifice we have to make. Loving the t-shirt too ;-)

I’m interested in finding out how fast it is… Then again I think I’d probably have to settle for the cheaper/slower option (R1499 for 24MB at 7.2mbps) for now…
